Soft Terms from Dilaton/moduli Sectors
نویسنده
چکیده
We study the structure of the soft SUSY-breaking terms obtained from large classes of 4-D Strings under the assumption of dilaton/moduli dominance in the process of SUSY-breaking. In particular, we first analyze in detail the dilaton-dominated limit because of its finiteness properties and phenomenological predictivity, and second, we consider the new features appearing when several moduli fields contribute to SUSY breaking. Although some qualitative features indeed change in the multimoduli case with respect to the dilaton dominance one, the most natural mass relations at low-energy m l < mq ≃ Mg are still similar. We also study the presence of tachyons pointing out that their possible existence may be, in some cases, an interesting advantage in order to break extra gauge symmetries. Finally, we find that the mechanism for generating a " µ-term " by the Kähler potential, as naturally implemented in orbifolds, leads to the prediction |tgβ| = 1 at the String scale, independently of the Goldstino direction. In this connection, it is worth noticing that in the dilaton-dominated case we obtain the remarkable result that the whole SUSY spectrum is completely determined with no free parameters.

We study the structure of the soft SUSY-breaking terms obtained from some classes of 4-D strings under the assumption of dilaton/moduli dominance in the process of SUSY-breaking. We generalize previous analyses in several ways and in particular consider the new features appearing when several moduli fields contribute to SUSY breaking (instead of an overall modulus T ). Some qualitative features...
متن کاملSoft Terms in M - theory
We discuss dilaton and Moduli dominant SUSY breaking scenarios in Mtheory. In addition, for the nonperturbative superpotential from gaugino condensation, we discuss the soft terms in the simplest model (only S and T moduli fields) and in the T 6/Z12 model from M-theory. From the phenomenology consideration, we suggest massless scalar SUSY breaking scenario.
متن کاملPhenomenology of Twisted Moduli in Type I String Inspired Models
We make a first study of the phenomenological implications of twisted moduli in type I intersecting D5-brane models, focussing on the resulting predictions at the LHC using SOFTSUSY to estimate the Higgs and sparticle spectra. Twisted moduli can play an important role in giving a viable string realisation of sequestering in the limit where supersymmetry breaking comes entirely from the twisted ...

I discuss several issues concerning the use of string models as unified theories of all interactions. After a short review of gauge coupling unification in the string context, I discuss possible motivations for the construction of SU(5) and SO(10) String-GUTs. I describe the construction of such String-GUTs using different orbifold techniques and emphasize those properties which could be genera...
متن کاملSUSY-breaking Soft Terms in a MSSM Magnetized D7-brane Model
We compute the SUSY-breaking soft terms in a magnetized D7-brane model with MSSM-like spectrum, under the general assumption of non-vanishing auxiliary fields of the dilaton and Kähler moduli. As a particular scenario we discuss SUSY breaking triggered by ISD or IASD 3-form fluxes.
